More pictures from the weekend Family Pet Expo

We had so much fun this weekend at the Family Pet Expo in San Mateo, California, I wanted to share some additional pictures...

The Atherton, California, Police Department gave K9 demos all weekend. It was so wonderful to see the dogs in action and to see them in their bullet-proof vests, donated by the K9 Foundation. Consider a donation as an upcoming holiday gift idea.

Gardo was our A-1 sales guy over the weekend, talking up the PetALERTZ program and selling lots of tags...

Autumn captured our hearts as she did her best doggie impression with Toby.

Autumn wasn't the only much-talked about visitor to the My Pet Street booth - this Jungle Carpet Python baby came to give us a surprise visit. Our adjoining booth, The Creature Company, said this little guy retails for about $200, so we were more than happy to get him/her back where she/he belongs...

But before we said goodbye, just one more photo op: maybe the caption should read: "I'm not going until I get my PetALERTZ tag!"

A total cutie pie - he did so many amazing tricks, he should be overflowing with treats.

And who might this little cutie be? Well, he's checking out a certain black dog, who used to live on the streets and his family was not sure how the dog would react to a baby furball. Turns out it was all just fine, so Baby Boy (a place holder name) is now taking a well-deserved nap on our couch.

It was encouraging to see so many resues adopted over the weekend (Baby Boy was one of them), but it is equally discouraging to hear the stories of the amazing volunteers who say shelters are now overflowing with some wonderfully adoptable pets because their families can no longer afford to keep them with the dwindling economic situation. After yesterday's market dive, I worry that the influx will not stop any time soon.
