I've been traveling a lot lately (a blog entry will be entered on
that soon), but last weekend, we took a break and joined in the
festivities at the Peninsula Humane Society's Mutt Strutt. This is the 14th year for this
event, and there was a relaxed, friendly crowd of two- and four-legged pack
members taking an extremely enjoyable break to the hustle and bustle of weekday life, and raising money for a good cause too.
Some of the pictures from the event are posted here. Chocolate and Toby were My Pet Street greeters, and our crack PR expert, Barbara Kohn, helped spread the word on PetAlertz. As a result, our community gained a significant boost in memberships in the Bay Area.
Those on board for the "Strutt" helped to raise (at last count) over $43K. The money is earmarked to help grow programs that ensure that no healthy, adopted pet will be euthanized for not finding a home. PHS is the recent winner of Animal Fair's SF Bay Area's Best Animal Welfare Organization. They are also our flagship partner for PetALERTZ, providing additional peace of mind to Peninsula residents that every proactive measure is taken to get a pet home safely if they get lost or in trouble.
Our next event is September 6 and 7 at the Marin Bay Area Pet Fair - if you're in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello!
