Some people are feeling the pinch of a slowing economy. There are avenues available to help in providing care for your pet without breaking the bank. Two really good tips included are:
- If your pet requires expensive surgery, and you live in a large metropolitan area, consider getting a second opinion in an area outside the city - many good vets are available and prices may be more affordable. Of course, this will work best for non-emergency or not highly specialized surgeries.
- Arrange for the vet tech to clean your pet's teeth - it will be better than what you can do at home, but not as good as the vet can do when your pet is under anesthesia. But it will be good enough until times get better.
