Two new books are out that help guide dog and cat owners on the benefits of providing quality time attention to your feline or canine member of the family. "Happy Cat, Happy You'' and "Happy Dog, Happy You'', by Arden Moore, available via Amazon.com give some great tips for ensuring happiness all around.
The books call out that for dogs, attention is easier to address because they simply demand it. Cats, on the other hand, can come across as independent enough that attention seems less important. But the books underline how much our kitties want to be with us too. Some suggestions for keeping our cats engaged include getting down on the floor and playing with them at their level. It's also advised to allow multi-cat households to have multiple places to eat, so the more mellow ones can find a quiet place to nosh, away from their more aggressive house mates.
