When a hug isn't available

Tue, 09/16/2008 - 20:27

Ever notice that when your dog is a bit stressed, a hug will seem to calm her down? What happens if you're not there to provide this comfort? Well, that's the premise for the Anxiety Wrap, a new product that simulates a hug or massage by putting light pressure on the torso.

The Anxiety Wrap addresses stress that can result in car sickness, hyperactivity, separation anxiety, destructive chewing, and even thunderstorm fear.

"When used with gentle training methods, the Anxiety Wrap is a natural alternative to conventional drugs. It makes living with a dog suffering from anxiety and fear a lot more manageable", says Dr. Barbara Fougere, veterinarian at All Natural Vet Care in Sydney and the product's distributor.

The product retails from $80, depending on size.
