Are there some sort of set standards for exams?

Does anybody know if there are some type of set standards for what an exam should include?

I just got my puppy, Thora, her rabie shot and they told me that now they have to do an Annual Exam before they can give a rabie shot.

Is an Annual Exam different then an regular Office Exam? Or a Wellness Exam? The Consultation?

I am guessing they all include a variety of services, the more the doctor checks the more the "exam" will cost the more extensive it is.

They should all take temp, look in ears, check lymphs..what else?

I don't think there are any "set" standards, but i'm sure that vets all have a common routine that they have been taught to go through. Once again I am not 100% sure, but I think an "office exam", "Wellness Exam", and "Consultation" are all the same thing, just different ways of marketing. The 2 vets that I've been to, pretty much went through the same routine before my pets got their vaccinations.
