My first Senior Canine

Is it important to change dog foods according to the dogs age? There are so many types of dog foods out now, they even have special "Breed" foods that advertise being aimed at "hips" or "other older dog problems"..

I am really considering making the dog food fresh, anybody do this for their dogs? I wouldn't know where to start.

So many dog food recalls out there, even the better brands have had recalls.

Homemade dog food recipe
One of the members of the pet street team has a older golden who had hip issues and gas! After much research she found this recipe: Remy's Homemade Doggy Dinner: ground lamb cooked well brown rice a fresh cracked egg on top You can make this in one huge batch in advance and put it in your fridge. Do it every Sunday night for instance! This wonderful older dog suddenly didnt have any itchy flaky coat issues, hips felt better, and the gas stopped! Another one of our users added glucosamine to their dog's food to help with hip issues. This is a natural compound which is found in healthy cartilage. The kind of foods your dog needs or might be helpful are: Chicken, eggs, organ meats, liver (be careful with amounts). Cultured dairy: yogurt, buttermilk, cheese Complex carbohydrates: potatoes, rice, legumes Fiber sources: bran, fresh vegetables (be careful to check which ones), whole-grains Let us know what you think! We have a few other recipes if you would like them!
