Saw rescue dogs at Pet Expo in San Mateo: what breed are they?
I am curious about this group of dogs, there were so many of them. So many were very friendly. What is going on? Is this a particular breed issue, and what breed are they? Or is this a monetary issue for owners and that is why the dogs are given up?

I tried to adopt a dog there. . . .
The dog I wanted to adopt was named sassy. She was a English Cocker. One of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. The thing that stopped me from adopting was the rescue wanted $400! That is not adoption. That is buying a dog. I would have paid $200 max for the dog, and I would have been willing to even donate money to the rescue on top, but flat out demanding $400 for a rescue dog seemed a little harsh to me. If their approach was different, I would have taken Sassy home that day!
Try Furry Friends Animal Rescue...

They are in Fremont, with foster homes all over the California Bay Area. They have an amazing reputation, and I got to talk to a couple who brought their foster dogs to the show. I doubt you'll have to pay $400, which does seem extremely steep.

How sad that Sassy didn't get a home that day...

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

That is not the same Rescue that I was reffering to. . . .
I guess there were multiple rescues at the San Mateo show. The rescue that I was referring to was called Doggie Protective Services for Homeless Tails. They are located in Romoland, CA. This was the group that was charging $400 for adoption. I am still thinking about giving them a call and adopting Sassy even though the price was steep. . . . We will see. . . . It's hard to spend that kind of cash in an economic downturn.
They are rat dog terriers
And a few cockers too....
