Ok, admit it - you thought it would be fun to send your dog, cat, or goldfish a magazine subscription. What harm could it do? Well, now, in a fevered attempt to get folks registered to vote, independent voter organizations are buying your dog, cat, or (now dead) goldfish names from vendors who sell the names of magazine subscribers.
"Fido's not going to be left on there, but if a cat is named is Polly, she may be," said Sarah Johnson, who is working to get voters registered. And a name like Princess could be valid too, she said. "I went to high school with two Princesses."
